Amba Yoga: A Resource for Freedom & Flexibility For the past nineteen years, Amba Yoga Center of Smithtown has become well known for focusing on its students’ individual needs and for excellence in yoga instruction. We are here to offer not only better health but greater freedom. First, we teach freedom of movement. But what follows is even more important: freedom of body, mind and spirit. With these expanded freedoms come new possibilities. There’s less restriction and more flexibility -- in our bodies and in our lives. From the way we move and breathe, to the way we relate to ourselves and to the world -- yoga affects it all, and for the better.

Yoga Instruction: Attention to Detail & Attention to You
Whether younger or older, all our students are encouraged to develop a new relationship with their physical abilities, and previous limitations, through the practice of yoga. More than a system of asanas, or select poses, yoga is really all about breath, balance, state of mind, and vitality.
Our foundation at Amba is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. This traditional form of hatha yoga is practiced with attention on alignment, form, and a deep engagement within each pose. Gentle yoga, Vinyasa flow yoga, Pranayama (breath control), and meditation are also taught here by outstanding instructors.
Our classes are for experienced yoga students and for people who have never done yoga before. We promise that everyone is welcome to attend – and that everyone will be attended to.
